When Ky Dickens began ‘The Telepathy Tapes‘ in 2024, the vision was clear: provide a platform (and proof) for non-speaking individuals who demonstrate extraordinary abilities – namely, a type of communication we understand as telepathy.
Ky was aware of the skepticism and risk to her rapport that would follow this venture. The documentary-style podcast was intended to have only one season, following Ky’s experience as she prepares for the documentary of the same name. The episodes would present the telepathic abilities of the non-speakers, the misunderstandings in conventional science and society, and the spiritual implications for humanity. As her work deepened and support poured in, Ky expanded the podcast to a second season containing “Talk Tracks“, going deeper with scientists, telepathic communicators, families, teachers, and more.
Ky joined forces with Dr. Diane Hennacy Powell, an expert on autism and savant syndrome, who was pulled into the world of telepathic communication through her work with non-speaking autistic individuals. Since discovering these abilities, Dr. Powell has committed her career to ESP studies. At the forefront of the science-spirituality conversation, Dr. Powell works to increase support, knowledge, and the “presumption of competence” for the non-speaking autistic population.
Like Dr. Powell, Ky found herself immersed in the world of Spelling (the communication method used by non-speakers involving a letterboard or iPad), telepathy, ESP, and other psi phenomena. Despite the risk, this group has set out to reshape the opportunities available to these individuals and open the minds of the rest of the population.
The implications are profound – spiritual, scientific, societal concepts that will change nearly every perception we consider “true”. On an individual scale, countless non-speaking individuals are presumed to be “incompetent” by doctors and scientists, when quite the opposite is true; not only is this cruel and inhumane, but we are silencing the most brilliant minds – and souls – we may have ever experienced on this Earth.
Visits from loved ones on the other side. Saying goodbye on their way to Heaven. The prophetic message that all religions speak of the One Truth. ‘The Telepathy Tapes’ opens a long-shunned Pandora’s Box, that might just be the key to the next level of humanity and spirituality.
Speech, Spelling, & Scientists: The Debate
Ky introduces the series with several heartwarming vignettes of non-speaking individuals and their loved ones, including family, educators, and aides. Many of these people reached out to Ky or
Dr. Powell themselves, excited to finally see a public mention of their children’s unique abilities.
While spreading knowledge of the psi phenomena is an important motivator for this work, there is a much more pressing matter at hand: most scientists and medical professionals do not consider non-speaking children competent, relegating them to a life of forced infancy without education or stimulation.
As we see in ‘The Telepathy Tapes’ and infinite other walks of life with disabled and non-speaking individuals, this could not be further from the truth; in fact, we could learn a lot from them if we could step away from the tired, materialist program.
A method of facilitated communication, or ‘Spelling‘ as it would come to be known, first came on the scene in the late 1980s. Finally, non-speaking or unreliably-speaking individuals were able to share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. This proved not only their competency, but their profound intelligence and attunement that goes far beyond human understanding.
Unfortunately, scientists and medical professionals have continuously discredited the practice of Spelling since its development. The original Spelling method required a gentle touch to facilitate physical movement that would share a non-speaker’s message; this led scientists to believe it was not a reliable way to communicate with a non-speaker without bias.
“Spelling” methods have gone through several upgrades following its original creation. While some spellers may still require touch while learning, the Rapid Prompting Method and Spelling to Communicate methods do not involve another person’s involvement and can more reliably be assigned to the mind of the non-speaker. Research papers discrediting Spelling largely investigated only the first method, ignoring the validity and success in subsequent years.
The lack of acceptance of Spelling (and thus, any insights generated from it) has caused major disruptions to the quality of life for these non-speakers. Despite their extraordinary abilities and intelligence scope, most people do not communicate with them as if they are “in there”, let alone allow them to attend “regular” classes that can grow their capabilities. Unfortunately, thousands of children are silenced and ignored, even openly ridiculed, with an outdated, inhumane assumption that thrives in our materialistic, cynical world.
As Ky interviews more families, it becomes clear that ESP isn’t a rarity in the world of autism. In fact, whole secret networks of professionals, families, and aids exist that openly acknowledge the reality of telepathy, even harnessing the method regularly with their children. Some groups want to promote the knowledge, expanding our beliefs about autism and psi phenomena worldwide; other groups are fearful of exposure, understandably so, and remain secretive to protect their non-speakers.
After interviewing families, Ky observed a series of experiments by Dr. Powell. Each test was tailored to the highest standards of the scientific method to account for the increased scrutiny of topics deemed ‘parapsychology’.
Repeatedly and verifiably, these individuals showed they can ‘read the minds’ of parents or close relatives, almost without fail. This includes random number and word tests, made-up word tests, and everyday examples, like always knowing where the hidden candy is the moment it pops into the mind. But is it really ‘mind-reading’, or is something else at play?
Exploring Consciousness: Beyond Mind-Reading
While “mind-reading” and “telepathy” are two words we’ve assigned to the concepts, it seems to go much deeper than that. As telepathic communicators reinforce throughout the series, words are mere attempts at explaining a larger idea, failing to fully capture the essence in most cases.
Each of these people appears to share the language of energy, though the input varies from person to person. Some receive impressions through images or dreams, while others may have an ‘innate knowing’ or obtain a sudden download of information that did not originate from them. The implication is that everyone, regardless of the diagnosis of autism, has the connection to this energy; on varying scales and through differing abilities, we all fall on this spectrum and can learn to “tap in”. As it turns out, being close to a non-speaker who already harnesses telepathy makes you a prime candidate.
Parents and caregivers share their experiences of being introduced to the ESP world and realize they could be more involved. In some cases, non-speakers appeared in their caretaker’s lucid dreams to communicate wants and needs, which are verified via spelling the next day. Others receive a subtle whisper in their brain, a fully formed thought from an unidentified origin. A large part of the hesitance to accept this may come from our flawed understanding of “telepathy” as omniscient mind-reading. While the potential may still be untapped, we’ve seen subtle, yet undeniable communications consistent with other psi phenomena documented over the centuries.
Soon, a concept with strong ties to metaphysical and spiritual communities emerged: the concept of One Consciousness, One Creator (sometimes called God/Spirit/Universe, etc). Many variations of the details exist, but the base belief is that we are all creations (or projections) of the same consciousness, experiencing itself in various forms and circumstances to develop its soul and serve others through love and kindness. Not only do the observed phenomena support this paradigm, but the non-speakers themselves have transmitted truly profound messages of this nature.
Many non-speakers featured in the podcast describe phenomena we would consider “supernatural”, “paranormal”, or, to some, impossible. However, the reality may be the key to unlocking the connections between science and spirituality.
Other abilities discussed in the series include (but not limited to – listen to it yourself!):
A skill similar to astral projection or remote viewing, which brings non-speakers to a shared safe space known as “The Hill”; this seems to share a connection to meditation and brain states or frequencies.
Pre-cognition and informational downloads about events that had not occurred or could not be known
Genius-level knowledge of highly specialized topics that could not be obtained through normal means; Dr. Powell connects this to Savant Syndrome and suggests the possibility of accessing unlimited information through shared consciousness – some may refer to this as the Ahkashic Records
Lucid dreaming, including shared dreams; many report being visited by positive entities (described as angels, God, Spirit Guides, passed loved ones) for “school” at night or other benevolent adventures
Profound spiritual insights regarding religion, individuality, consciousness, and love
Visits from passed loves ones or a connection to the “other side”/ “other realms”
Additionally, the non-speakers are connected on a much deeper level, as they suggest we are, too. Some telepathic individuals have connected with other non-speakers hundreds of miles away, bridging the gap for those still stuck in the sludge of outdated paradigms. Non-speakers with close bonds have shown intense synchrocity, as if they all “received” the same energetic information in unison, as one Mind.
As the Theory of Divine Consciousness goes, I like this evidence. It is essential to believe and support these people and families, not primarily for the greater gains of humanity, but first for the liberation of each mind and soul trapped in a misunderstood body.
Expanding on Spiritual Implications
Ky mentions consistently that she was hesitant to share specific aspects, particularly spiritual, out of fear of turning even more people away from the message. She reiterates that this was not the original scope of the podcast, but became unavoidable as reality presented itself.
Staying true to the desires of the non-speakers, Ky committed to sharing their full message.
One boy spoke of his soul not being properly placed in his body; others indicated they weren’t aware of their bodies at all. This suggests their lack of speech stems from a partial disconnect of the body-mind-soul, allowing them access to the higher realms they are still tethered to. Thankfully, this allows them a place of connection and understanding, supplementing the absence of a fulfilling external life at the hands of ignorant scientists.
While listening, this raised several half-formed questions in my mind: Do traumatic events register as out-of-body experiences because our soul leaves our body? Do all people with autism have some expanded spiritual access? Is autism the cause of spiritual gifts, or do increased spiritual gifts cause traits we categorize as ‘autism’? Of course, I am not the person to answer these definitively, but hopefully we can move on to these questions after freeing every non-speaker and spreading their message with them.
Many non-speakers, regardless of religion or culture, shared amazing insights about the afterlife, worship, and divinity in their daily lives. Individuals in families that have never practiced religion report meetings with Jesus or Buddha, stating they are the incarnations of the concepts of Divine Consciousness – an embodiment of the One Creator. This may explain why some people report different religious figures during a Near-Death-Experience, while others see only family or pets.
Consistently, non-speakers share a similar message stemming from their Divine Connection: our purpose is to spread love, advance our soul, learn and grow, until we eventually reunite with the
One in a place of limitless peace and joy.
While our human brains struggle to imagine a place without time-space, without our physical forms, without our material attachments, they are insistent that we have nothing to fear. In fact, many non-speakers report preferring the experience there, finding it “easier” and “more natural”. This implies we are in a temporary incarnation of an infinite soul that knows only peace, love, and joy. Thus, the more we emanate these traits, the more we emanate our connection to the Divine One.
Ky brings on more people to speak on the expanding beliefs as a result of this experience. Animal communicators, energy healers, neuroscientsts, and more have sat down to share their thoughts on ‘The Telepathy Tapes’ through their own unique lens, forming Season 2 of the show.
The Path Forward
Like most topics of ‘supernatural’ nature, it’s best you listen to yourself. As much as I explain, we are all inevitably bound to prior limiting beliefs that can only be expanded firsthand. You now have a responsibility to yourself, the non-speaking community, and humanity to dive into what it means to be a conscious, aware, embodied, loving, joyous being.

See you when we’re all One….
